Who, What, Why?

Why?

The photos you see here are from my own collection. Having spent quite a lot of time pursuing my other passion of roaming from place to place, you'll find my work to be a map of my travels and adventures. Some old & some new; always with camera in hand, learning as much about the art of photography as the places, people & things I'm shooting.

I suppose that was the main reason why I fell in love with the view of the world through my lens... each image held much more than colour and light; each possessed a unique voice in the background, a face in the shadows. In short, a moment in time. A memory, an experience.

Most of my work is for personal enrichment, either for myself or those close to me. I do on occasion, however, provide my, (not too bad if I do say so myself) services to friends and acquaintances who are either celebrating an important event, in need of portraits of them and/or their families, or who just want a special day commemorated by photographs.

Who?

Originally from Portland, Oregon, I'm now living in Paris where my primary objective is to be able to hold a conversation in French at a level slightly more advanced than a six year old. In my spare time, however, I stick to things I'm good at, and love.

My interest in photography began in the early 00's while I was living in Brooklyn where I was surrounded by friends, colleagues & neighbours who were all of an artistic vein. Unable to design clothes, paint fabulously or sing beautifully, I picked up a camera instead. What followed was a hobby that soon became a passion & means of existence. Having put the camera down for a spell to persue other ventures, I'm picking it up once again - where else better than Paris?

What?

There are many subjects I enjoy working with; however, there are of course certain topics which peak my interest:

  • Architecture & Construction
  • Urban Design & Rehabilitation
  • Transportation
  • Nature & Landscapes
